Michael Kornfeld (editor and publisher): Although writing and singing song parodies poking fun at newsmakers for the Press Club of Long Island (PCLI)’s annual holiday show is the extent of Mike’s own musical creativity, he has a passion for acoustic music. An award-winning writer and communications strategist, Mike also is a frequent speaker on public relations and communications topics. He organized and moderated a panel discussion on “PR for Performers & Presenters” at the 2005 Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference, was a panelist discussing that topic during the 2006 and 2007 NERFA Conferences, and has spoken at several Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) national conventions. He also has taught in New York University’s Public Relations and Corporate Communications certificate program. Mike served two terms as president of both the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island (PRPLI) and the New York chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). A former contributing writer for The New York Times, his early interviews with Rosie O’Donnell and Jerry Seinfeld presaged their rise to stardom. Mike has been a board member of PCLI and The Deadline Club in New York City. Both clubs are chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists. He serves on the NERFA board of directors, is treasurer of the Folk Music Society of Huntington and co-chaired the 2007 Huntington Folk Festival. Mike also is a board member of The Eclectic Cafe in Bay Shore, NY and a member of Tribes Hill, a nonprofit organization uniting musicians and their patrons in the greater Hudson Valley region and beyond. The Roots Music Association recognized him and AcousticMusicScene.com as its "member of the month" in its May 2007 e-newsletter.
Glen Roethel (words, music and art): Glen is a singer/songwriter/guitarist with a penchant for positive and intentional songwriting. His songs and music which have appeared in nationally syndicated commercial radio, TV, college and international radio have been performed at faith- and peace-oriented festivals from New York City to New Hampshire, enjoyed in Spain, Italy, Morocco and France, and commissioned for retreats, benefits, hospitals and health conferences. His debut solo CD, From Beginning to End, a virtual soundtrack to the 2006 film, "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, hit the streets independently in 2004 on indy label Inspireline Records. Glen is currently in the studio finishing his new album, Smaller Things, which contains more songs to rekindle your spirit. Give yourself a treat and listen to his songs at http://www.glenroethel.com.
